The mission of the officers assigned to Operational District Five is to confidently function both independently and as a member of a highly specialized unit of professionally trained, levelheaded law enforcement officers. They will do so while projecting an appearance and demeanor that reflects a high degree of professional bearing, competence, and approachability while ensuring that both their words and actions fulfill valid purposes. These officers will be mindful that the basis for their day to day activities, patrols, and priorities are rooted in the areas of: Public Safety, Natural Resource Protection, Service to Other Divisions, and Promoting the Capabilities, Goals, and Accomplishments of Indiana Conservation Officers among the public and other emergency response agencies.
