Journeys in Film cover
Mission Journeys in Film harnesses the power of film to teach across the disciplines and enrich the educational experience of today's students. Our goal is to prepare students to live and work as informed, media-literate and globally competent citizens.

"Journeys in Film is a non profit dedicated to advancing global understanding by harnessing the power of film to create educational programs that inspire learning and prepare the next generation for their future roles as knowledgeable, empathetic, and culturally competent global citizens."

The key to using movies for education is the quality of the lesson plans and discussions that follow after the lights go on. We use film as springboards for developing interdisciplinary lesson plans in subjects ranging from math, science, language arts and social studies to topics which have become critical for students to learn more about—like environmental sustainability, poverty and hunger, global health and immigration.

Teacher effectiveness is critical to student achievement. Journeys in Film offers professional development to help teachers effectively bring global education into their classroom, while providing teachers with the resources and the expertise to introduce film into their teaching with our prepared curricula.
