Julie has 20 years of experience working with adults and adolescents across a range of issues; depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, drug dependency and coping with loss and adjustment. She provides evidence-based treatment, which means therapy that is informed by science and has been shown to be effective in research studies. She predominantly practices a form of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy called Acceptance and Commitment Therapy or ACT (said as one word) and has trained extensively both in Australia and overseas using this model. Julie is a full member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the Association of Contextual Behavioural Science (ACBS). She is a past board member of the Australian and New Zealand chapter of the ACBS and is eligible to provide Medicare services.
