Children at the New York State accredited Kid Esteem Montessori School develop a deep understanding of who they are as learners in small classes geared toward individualized instruction. As they explore the world around and within themselves, they acquire the skills and internal motivation to pursue their ideas and inquiries with depth and breadth. They are encouraged, during every encounter in the classroom and school environment, to bring their unique points of view to both academic and social challenges with thoughtful reflection, humor, joy and celebration. * ROSALIE FRANZESE NAPOLITANO MA- DIRECTOR OF TEACHING AND LEARNING
Ms. Rosalie is a New York State Certified Teacher, Reading Specialist, Staff Developer, former Adjunct Professor at NYU and the recipient of the New York City Board of Education's Distinguished Teacher Award in 1996 and Teacher of the Year Award in 1998. Her bestselling books READING AND WRITING IN KINDERGARTEN: A PRACTICAL GUIDE (2002, Scholastic), TWENTY READING AND WRITING CENTERS: FUN LITERACY-BUILDING CENTERS (2005, Scholastic), and POEMS FOR TEACHING HIGH FREQUENCY WORDS IN KINDERGARTEN AND FIRST GRADE (2011, Scholastic), along with her deeply held belief that reading and writing should be a positive and joyous experience that builds self-esteem, have transformed literacy learning for over a quarter million students.

After years of teaching in the NYC public school system, Principal Marianne pursued a career in creative arts counseling and developed the LOVING AUTHORITY approach to parenting at Kid Esteem, Inc. Marianne's book THE SACRED WEAVE OF MOTHERING (2002, Aslan Publishing) continues to provide comfort, guidance and inspiration for thousands of mothers and parents. She has made numerous guest apperances on nationally syndicated radio and television shows in many markets around the country, discussing her perspective on women's and family issues, spiritual growth, psychological healing and the role that creative arts needs to play in education and child development.
