|About||Welcome to Kip McGrath Preston North. We can offer the best in private tuition from fully qualified teachers in Reading, Spelling, English and Maths, for children aged between 5 and 16.|
I have been teaching children for 21 years and have loved my job throughout that time but I have decided to take on a new challenge to become a tutor. My expertise is with children aged 5 to 11, having taught all ages within primary school from Reception through to Year 6. I have also supported children with a variety of special educational needs within mainstream education. I was working full time in a state school until July 2017, so I have relevant up-to-date experience and know the latest curriculum. In addition to my teaching experience, I also have a scientific degree and a PhD, both of which involved Maths and English to a high level, so I would also be able to offer secondary student support in these areas too, particularly up to KS3. As my business grows I am aiming to employ GCSE Maths and English specialists to support students in attaining the very highest levels in these exams if that is what hey are aiming for. Please feel free to register your interest if that is what you require and I will contact you as soon as this service is available.
As a mother of two teenagers (one who has completed a first year at University and is now having a gap year, and one who has just completed GCSEs and is now off to college), I have watched and supported my own children throughout their education and still do. I know it can be difficult to provide the support your children need as well as go to work and maintain a happy family life. As an experienced educator, I understand the demands of the education system and the very high expectations we, as a society, have of our children. We all want them to achieve their potential so that they can lead happy and successful lives.
I hope that I can be of assistance to your children- whether it is to support them in order to overcome obstacles to learning or whether it is to provide the extra challenge that some children need. Please feel free to contact me to ask for advice or to arrange an initial free assessmen
