The Knights of Columbus are the largest Catholic fraternal organization in the world, with over 1.8 million members. We made over $173 million in charitable donations in 2014 alone and our members volunteered over 70 million hours in the past year. We were founded in 1882 by Fr. Michael J. McGivney, a parish priest in New Haven, CT. We are founded on the principles of charity, unity, fraternity, and patriotism.
Council 101 was the first Council founded in Maine and is known as "The Portland Council".
