Formed in memory of Henry T. Ross, The 1939 Council is a Catholic-based Fraternal Organization engaged in Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism.
We are brothers in service to Christ and country. We serve in solidarity with our priests and parishioners as the Culture of Life to make our Church and community a stronghold for faith and freedom.
Council 1939 of the Knights of Columbus was chartered in Brunswick Georgia in 1919 and named in honor of Henry T. Ross the first Catholic servicemen from Brunswick to lose his life in WWI. It has grown to a 150 member strong council with members in the three local Catholic Churches, namely St. Francis Xavier, in Brunswick, St Williams on St. Simons Island and the Church of the Nativity in Darien Georgia.
