|About||A chapter of the leading upland wildlife habitat conservation group, Pheasants Forever, " The Habitat Organization" - www.pheasantsforever.org|
|Mission||Dedicated to the conservation of pheasants, quail, and other wildlife through habitat improvements, public awareness, education, and land management policies and programs.|
The Knox County Chapter of Pheasants Forever works primarily in Knox County, IL to support the establishment and conservation of upland habitat for wildlife. We also work to introduce new people to the great outdoors through education, activities, and special events.
Our flagship work is Forever Fields Upland Habitat Management Area, just East of Victoria, IL in Knox County. This 507-acre piece of reclaimed strip mine was purchased by Pheasants Forever in 2011 and placed in the Forever Land Trust. Since then, Chapter members and other volunteers, along with the great Illinois Pheasants and Quail Forever Staff, have been working to develop the land into a highly desirable habitat for pheasants, quail, and other upland wildlife, as well as waterfowl.
We also work with local landowners to implement effective upland habitat areas and management practices to support wildlife in their local area.
