|About||Koha Apiaries is a small honeybee apiary run by Glyn and Shevelle Stephens. They are located near Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and believe that you should know the people and processes involved in producing your honey.|
Welcome to Koha Apiaries! We are Glyn and Shevelle Stephens, a husband and wife team with a background in biology and a passion for honeybees.
Glyn grew up keeping bees in a small town in New Zealand, and we met while we were studying biology at the University of Canterbury. After completing our degrees we moved to Shevelle’s hometown of Edmonton and began keeping bees as a hobby. We noticed that friends, family, and complete strangers were enthusiastic and inquisitive about honeybees and honey. People wanted high-quality local honey and had concerns about what was in it and where it was coming from.
As a result, Koha Apiaries was founded in 2016 with the mission to provide consumers with a complete understanding of where their honey comes from. We do this by sharing information about the people, locations, and processes that are involved in the production of our honey. We value transparency, approachability, education, and bee health, and these values emanate through all we do. If you have any questions about our bees or honey, Koha Apiaries would love to hear from you.
