Krav Maga is a modern and comprehensive self defence system that is practical and effective for ordinary people.
It is focused on building realistic and practical self defence skills for situations that may arise. It will give you a fighting chance to protect yourself and family or friends without serious harm (within the bounds of the law)
Krav Maga is relatively new in New Zealand but very popular and fast growing around the world. Different class types are offered and enjoyed by men, women and children or all backgrounds.
All over Body Workout
While it is addressing serious situations, it will get you fit, build confidence and is a lot of fun. It is relatively quick to learn and become proficient, compared to martial arts.
All-over Body Workout
Traditional strength exercises, boxing type drills, will keep you heart rate elevated and work your muscles for an all over body workout that will help you to tone and lose weight.
Women gain increased confidence from learning practical defence skills. For women we emphasise solutions situations such as unwanted attention or attempted sexual violence.
Defences do not rely on size or strength and work just as effectively for women as they do for men. We have many women in our system both as students and instructors, including Natasha pictured.
Train Safely without Getting Hurt
Our techniques include both defences against strikes and grabs which necessitates some contact in practice.
However, our objective is to give you skills to protect you, not to go home hurt. We emphasise safe training through, carefully planned exercises, use of protective equipment and any hard striking is on pads.
Women can comfortably train in the adults class with men and ultimately most prefer to do so as this gives you the confidence your techniques work against men in practice.
