Peruvian Art and Crafts
Arte Tradicional y Aplicado
Peru´s cultural and geographical diversity make it a fascinating country. It´s ancient and contemporary craftspeople developed their art in response to this remarkable variety, using a wide range of materials, techniques, skills, designs and purposes, whether practical or spiritual.
Changes in modern crafts often reflect the pressures of modern life. Today, while some crafts have adapted and evolved in response to contemporary markets, with good results, in other cases these changes have produced less successful results, affecting the livelihoods of crafts people.
Kuntur Huasi S.A. is continuing a family tradition begun in 1958: To maintain, revive or improve the quality of traditional arts and crafts and therefore the incomes of crafts people. We maintain the individuality of the crafts, avoiding mass production.
Kuntur Huasi offers and also custom makes rugs, lamps, picture frames in tin and glass… As well as sweaters, jewelry, tinware, wooden toys and much, much more…
