|About||The Society was founded to collect, protect, preserve, display, and further the preservation of items and documents of historical value and significance from the Lake Elsinore Valley.|
|Description||The Lake Elsinore Historical Society was conceived and organized in 1996. Today, there is a museum in historic downtown Lake Elsinore. It is located in the basement of the City of Lake Elsinore's Cultural Center at 183 North Main Street. The Museum is open on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., and Sundays from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. This building is currently being retrofit to be earthquake compliant. In the interim, a temporary museum is located at 15891 Grand Avenue, Suite #1, and is referred to as the Grand Avenue Museum. It will be open the same hours as the downtown museum and as shown above.|
The building where our Main Street Museum used to be was sold and we have combined those artifacts with those from the Museum and Research Library into one large facility.
The community is invited to visit the Society's newest museum of Lake Elsinore artifacts. We especially encourage teachers as well as Boy Scout and Girl Scout leaders to arrange tours of our museum to give the boys and girls a chance to see some of the history of the Lake Elsinore Valley.
