Kristy Kirkland earned her Juris Doctor from the University of Alabama School of Law in 2008. She worked for a large personal injury firm for two years before opening her own firm.
Since opening her own firm, she has dedicated herself to the causes of her clients in several different legal areas, including immigration, child custody, divorce, personal injury, social security disability, worker's compensation, guardianship, juvenile law, adoption, and misdemeanor criminal cases.
Kristy Kirkland is a licensed attorney in both Alabama and Florida. She is further admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Alabama and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Florida. Further, Kristy is a certified guardian ad litem through the state of Alabama.
She was first elected a board member at large for the Houston County Bar Association in 2013 and was recently re-elected to that position.
Kristy is dedicated to the community, donating her time to several local organizations. Her favorite community activity is serving as counselor at Alabama Girls State for a week every June. Kristy has been a Girls State counselor since 2001.
She is active at Wiregrass Church, and has enjoyed previously serving in the middle school and high school environments there.
Born and raised in Dothan, Kristy believes that being an attorney is a calling, and that service to the public should be paramount in any law practice. As such, she zealously represents her clients while remaining conscientious of the practical matters of costs surrounding legal representation. She works with her clients to develop affordable, practical plans for whatever legal issues they may face.
