|About||Artisan crafts and foods featuring hand crafted toys, decorations, baked goods, canned goods, etc.|
The Layman Made team is comprised of husband David, wife Jenesse, and their four boys, Dillon (12), Conner (10), Ethan (9), and newest team member Michael (1).
David began making wooden arts and crafts around the age of 14 when he and his mother would spend countless hours on the band saw and at the kitchen table painting their creations. They eventually went on to selling at local fairs and craft shows and had quite a run of it. David is now teaching his boys how to use the band saw, scroll saw, drill press, lathe, etc. to make creations of their own with the hopes that enjoyment of working with the hands and making something tangible excites them and generates a new generation of craftsmen.
Jenesse has always enjoyed cooking, baking, and playing in the kitchen. She has a natural gift for cooking and baking. The kids have teased that this is a curse as it has "ruined their enjoyment of restaurants because the food is never as good as it is at home!" :) Jenesse started selling her home made and secret recipe apple butter around six years ago and it's reputation grew quickly, keeping up with demand was always a problem. She has continued to add new products to her arsenal including home made chow chows, cakes, pies, etc.
The family is very actively involved in their local church. Jenesse home-schools their children and enjoys baking and cooking when not spending time with the children or David.
David works full-time with a nationally recognized banking firm and enjoys wood crafts and art design when not spending time with the family.
It is our hope, our prayer, that you will love the items we sell as much as we do and that by owning something we have made and put our love into that you may come to appreciate the "simpler" things in life.
With much love and in Christ,
