The Climate Leadership Commitments, signature program of Second Nature, are a high-visibility effort to address global climate disruption undertaken by a network of colleges and universities. Signatories have made institutional commitments to eliminate net greenhouse gas emissions from specified campus operations, to address climate adaptation and community capacity-building, and to address climate adaptation and community capacity-building, and to promote the integration of research and education into these efforts.

Second Nature was founded in 1993. The Presidents' Climate Leadership Commitments (formerly known as the American College & University Presidents' Climate Commitment or ACUPCC) were launched in 2006.
