The Core Services unit provides administrative and fiscal support to Linn County’s direct human service programs, many of which are housed in this building!
It also works with other community partners to plan, organize and support many human service collaborations and activities that focus on its target populations: children & youth; individuals experiencing financial hardships, homelessness or hunger; persons with disabilities; and older adults.
A few examples of projects and activities in which staff is involved include:
o Development and updating the Community Resources Sheets;
o Freedom from Hunger Food Drive, which raised 100,560 pounds of food this year!
o Americans with Disabilities Act Celebration (for persons with disabilities);
o Five Seasons Stand Down for Homeless Veterans and Others who are Homeless or Near Homeless;
o Linn Area Community Organizations Active in Disaster;
o Human Services Transportation Advisory Group;
o Administration of federal Emergency Food & Shelter Program Funds on behalf of 11 local food assistance programs and shelters.
