|Description||Long Branch Baptist Church, located on Halfway Road between The Plains and Middleburg, celebrates a long history, having been founded in 1786 and looks forward to a bright future of service to our community, loving fellowship with each other, and praise to God our Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer. Long Branch has been the mother church for many other congregations, including Mount Hope (1835), Antioch (1837), Middleburg (1847), The Plains First Baptist Church (1872, originally called Cephas Baptist Church) and Marshall (1882). The building has been described as one of the loveliest colonial-style churches in Northern Virginia. We celebrate a blended style of worship, including traditional hymns and today's choruses. The warm fellowship among the members provides a family-like atmosphere for worship. Regular Sunday services include Sunday School for children and adults at 9 a.m. and morning worship at 10 a.m. Many opportunities for worship, fellowship, and service await new members. We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s Son, as Savior, the Bible as the written foundation for our worship and service, and are committee to loving service of our community in Christ’s name. Church members enjoy contributing to Seven Loaves Food Services, a food bank serving Fauquier and Loudoun counties. We regularly organize musical benefits to raise money for those in need in the community. Our Homecoming celebration is always the third Sunday in September.
