|About||Lori Fayhee for Lee County School Board|
|Mission||I oppose Common Core, high stakes testing, and raising taxes. I support a well rounded, whole child education, which includes life and social skills that will enable our students to become viable and valuable contributing members of our community.|
I am running for Lee County School Board District 3 because I believe the most important person in our district is the student and that for far too long we’ve lost sight of that basic truth. We’ve focused our attention on the bureaucracy and away from the classroom. Our teachers are forced to take money out of their own pockets to buy supplies, while the bureaucracy spends money on themselves. Teachers are the cornerstone, the foundation of our future. They need our support and when I’m elected I will make sure they will know how important they are and I will see to it that they have the necessary funding to do their job of instructing our children with a well rounded education.
I believe we should have local control of our children’s education and that we should not turn it over to some unseen, unnamed bureaucrat in Tallahassee, or Washington. As recently as 20 years ago, America was number one internationally in education, today we’re rated in the mid teens.
For more than three years, I have been listening to Lee County parents, students, and teachers and working to create the change they need in our public schools. When elected, I will continue to work toward creating a world class, well-rounded education for our children and our community.
A vote for me is a vote for students, teachers, and local control.
