|About||Broadley is a creative individual with drive and commitment who launched CoCreate in June 2017, combining making with a collaborative, interdisciplinary practice which enthusiastically champions the role of craft, creative and community development.|
In addition to re-establishing my own studio ceramics practice, I am interested in enabling as many individuals and communities as possible to experience, manage and participate in creative and entrepreneurial projects.
I returned to education in 1992, graduating from the Glasgow School of Art (Ceramics Department) with a BA (Hons) Design in 1997, when I also won the GSA Chase Charity Scholarship and a Design School Travelling Scholarship.
Formerly Executive Director of Craft Town Scotland, a community-led creative regeneration project based in West Kilbride, I have gained significant experience of strategic and project development, fundraising, management of a capital project and creative programming. Responsible for driving Craft Town Scotland’s development over a 13-year period, during this time the project was recognised at national level through various awards including Enterprising Britain 2006, a Scottish Urban Regneration Forum Award in 2006, a Creative Scotland Creative Place Award in 2012 and the Village Category of the Great British High Street Awards 2015.
I have developed a distinct skill set across the creative, community development and cultural enterprise sectors; developing strong, working relationships with local people, makers, fellow professionals and collaborators. My contribution to the place-making agenda has been recognised by inclusion in various advisory groups, including the Scottish Government’s External Advisory Group assembled in September 2012 to take forward a national review of town centres.
Having worked successfully with a wide range of individuals and organisations – communities, creative practitioners and organisations, Local and National Government officials and politicians – I possess excellent interpersonal skills and am equally comfortable speaking at local, national and international conferences and cultural exchanges.
