|Mission||We grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.|
The Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Greater Virginia was founded in August 1987. Since then we have had the privilege of granting more than 4,000 wishes in Virginia to children with life-threatening medical conditions.
Wishes symbolize the innocence, sincerity and uniqueness that only a child can truly achieve. Wishes have the power to deliver hope, strength and joy to these children that are dealing with or have overcome a difficult and challenging time. Wishes come in all shapes and sizes, from a visit to Cinderella's Castle, a shopping spree at a favorite store, a new computer, a chance to swim with dolphins or meet their favorite celebrity.
Whatever the wish, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Greater Virginia does everything possible to ensure that the wish experience is one that the entire family will forever remember and cherish. We believe in sharing the power of a wish.
This page is dedicated to all past, present and future wish children, wish families, and volunteers of the Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Greater Virginia.
Our Make-A-Wish Foundation® of Greater Virginia chapter volunteers are part of a nationwide network of nearly 25,000 caring people dedicated to making a child's wish come true. This page is about some of the great people at the Greater Virginia chapter who are brightening the lives of wish kids.
Although it has become one of the world’s most well-known charities, the Make-A-Wish Foundation® has maintained the grassroots fulfillment of its mission to serve children with life-threatening medical conditions. Volunteers serve as wish granters, fundraisers, special events assistants and in numerous other capacities. In short, they are the ones who make these wishes come true and we are so thankful for everything our volunteers do.
