Mission To provide training, equipment and response teams in time of need for mass casualty marine incidents.
Description Marine Safety Service began as a maritime escort and training unit for NYC Parks sponsored events in New York Harbor. After 9/11 it became the training division for the Search & Rescue Foundation deploying training and response teams throughout the U.S. and most notably the inflatable boat teams with the 3rd Brigade 82nd Airborne in Response to Hurricane Katrina.
Aside from mass inflatable boat teams and small boat raining, the Marine Safety Service operates Side Scan Sonar and remotely operated vehicle teams (ROV) in conjunction with the USCG.
