Marine Safety Service began as a maritime escort and training unit for NYC Parks sponsored events in New York Harbor. Aside from mass inflatable boat teams and small boat raining, the Marine Safety Service operates Side Scan Sonar and remotely operated vehicle teams (ROV) in conjunction with the USCG.
