|About||Mary Ward International Australia (MWIA) is a partnership for justice and development under the auspice of the Loreto Sisters Australia & South East Asia.|
|Mission||To support the development works associated with the Loreto Sisters and their colleagues as they empower women in transforming structures and systems that keep them oppressed and marginalised.|
Mary Ward International Australia's (MWIA) mission is to empower women and girls to challenge structures which keep them in situations of poverty, marginalisation and submission.
MWIA does this through supporting the work of the Loreto Sisters around the world, targeting education, health, income generation and community development as the keys to women's empowerment.
MWIA creates opportunities for individuals, groups and networks to collaborate with our Australian and International projects for justice and development. This occurs through:
- Building partnerships and working together to achieve change
- Seeking sustainable funding options
-Advocating and lobbying for access to education
- Raising awareness about significant social justice issues
- Educating and empowering individuals and communities to take action
- Encouraging groups to fundraise and make donations
- Promoting volunteering as a way of contributing
