|About||Building Confidence/Life Skills through Music, Drama, Performance & Presentation Skills, Musical Theatre, Hip Hop Dance for Children, Teenagers & Adults.|
|Mission||Mel Ryan, using the vehicle of music, drama & presentation skills, is dedicated to helping people believe in themselves, to feel that they are capable of achieving more than they realise. These programmes give them the communications skills and the confidence of believing that they have the ability and the skill to stand in the spotlight in whatever form.|
Childrens' classes are for ages 4 - 12 years and are held in small groups of 6-8 to allow for plenty of encouragement and individual attention. Classes introduce students to the world of musical theatre, presentation skills & public speaking, with a stong emphasis on building confidence through performance in a fun-filled, no-pressure, atmosphere. Drama games and exercises are particularly useful in developing life skills and students get plenty of practise in processing both enjoyable and potentially challenging day-to-day scenarios. Guitar and singing lessons are now available also for children.
Mel Ryan is now offering programmes for adults and college students in drama & performance and presentation skills. One-to-one singing coaching is also available from September 2014.
Mel Ryan has been playing leading roles in musical theatre in Ireland for over 30 years in The Gaiety Theatre, The Olympia Theatre, The National Concert Hall, The Cork Opera House and The Wexford Opera House.
She studied at the Royal Irish Academy of Music, The Gaiety School of Acting, The Bil Keating Centre for TV Presentation Skills and Carr Communications.
She has presented many concerts in the National Concert Hall, the Pavilion Theatre and Jury's Hotel.
TV/Radio/Film Credits include: The Late Late Show, Prime Time, Theatre Nights (all for RTE), the mum in 'Turkle' (RTE), Mother in 'Fantabulous' (IADT) and Stella in 'Aisling's Diary (CR Productions/RTE.)
Having 3 children herself, and working very closely with the teams of children who take part in the Christmas productions every year in the National Concert Hall, Mel is genuinely interested in encouraging young talent.
