|About||Under the watchful gaze of Mount Ainslie, Metropol by Geocon will deliver Canberra’s boldest new urban lifestyle in the heart of the city. Metropol has civic architecture inspired design, timeless materials and views across Glebe Park.|
With its dynamic city location, suburban proximity, 1930s-inspired design and timeless materials and finishes, Metropol will deliver Canberra’s boldest new urban lifestyle.
Designed by award-winning and internationally-renowned architects Fender Katsalidis and Oculus Landscape Architecture and Urban Design – whose acclaimed projects include NewActon Precinct, MONA in Hobart, Eureka Towers in Melbourne, as well as Geocon's Midnight and Republic projects – it will replace the run-down Bega Flats on the corner of Cooyong Street and Ainslie Avenue.
With three distinct but well-linked buildings and stepped Zigurat facades, Metropol will form an axis that extends from Mount Ainslie to Glebe Park and from the CBD and Braddon to Canberra’s inner-northern suburbs. It will feature 530 apartments, a luxurious residents’ penthouse with a swimming pool, and expansive public spaces.
The development will be within easy riding and walking distance of Braddon, Glebe Park, the Canberra Centre, the Australian National University and government departments. It will also provide excellent access to public transport options.
Stage 1 market release will take place on 20 November, with construction commencing mid to late 2018.
