|About||Bring Mike home from the hospital by making his home more accessible. Mike needs a new customized wheelchair, bathroom, van modifications, and more.|
Mikey has had a rough year. He has undergone multiple procedures, including the fusing of 10 vertebrae and insertion of titanium rods in his spine, which led to sepsis and hospitalization for most of November 2017 to present, and much of that time has been spent in ICU. He underwent a tracheotomy, had a feeding tube inserted, and was placed on dialysis in January. As a result of these and other complications, he has lost a significant amount of weight.
Mikey is defying expectations though. He has regained the ability to speak and is eating again. He wants to return to his home. But, in order to do so, he will need additional accessibility modifications and updates to be made to the house, a new wheelchair fitted to his needs and reduced weight, around the clock care, lots of medical supplies, and specialized food.
Mikey and Natashia have limited resources to cover these expenses. Without your generous help, Mike will be confined to an assisted living facility. He needs to return to his own home where he has the continued support of his wife, family, and friends that is critical to his recovery.
My mother, Natashia Holte, and I are asking for help to cover the costs of home modifications, a new chair, home care, medical supplies, and specialized food. Donations of time, skills, and other resources are greatly appreciated. Your help is needed today, so that Mikey can leave the hospital.
