The Nabana Lodge Social Series is operated by Paul Shepheard of Nabana Lodge in Hazyview, Mpumalanga. The NLSS was founded in 2009 and originally operated under the name “Nabana Lodge Monthly Fishing Competition.”
The aim of this trail is to offer a relaxed and affordable series of social tournaments for local anglers to compete in. Social being the operative word! The NLSS’s more lenient rules structure is aimed at bass anglers who want to compete in a less stringent environment, and to act as a stepping stone of experience for anglers looking to sooner or later participate in more competitive tournaments.
The emphasis is on having fun, enjoying a day on the water with bass fishing friends, encouraging participation by youth and less experienced anglers, and promoting good sportsmanship! In Paul Shepheard’s own words, “Please don’t treat it like a Bassmaster Classic.”
