The National MPA Center supports the nation’s system of marine protected areas to conserve and sustain our nation's oceans, coasts, and marine resources.
The National Marine Protected Areas (MPA) Center's mission is to facilitate the effective use of science, technology, training, and information in the planning, management, and evaluation of the nation's system of marine protected areas.
The National Marine Protected Area Center works in partnership with federal, state, tribal, and local governments, tribes, and stakeholders to connect and strengthen the nation's diverse marine protected areas programs. These efforts help ensure more efficient, effective use of MPAs now and in the future to conserve and sustain the nation's vital marine resources.
The MPA Center's headquarters are located in Silver Spring, MD (see address above), but there is also an office in Monterey, CA.
