Mission
The Museum of Aviation Foundation, Inc.’s mission statement is to meticulously preserve our Nation’s military history while growing exceptional future leaders through education and inspiration.
In 2007, Candi James, Heritage Program Lead, was awarded the Georgia Museum Educators Museum Educator of the Year award. In 2008, the Georgia Historical Records Advisory Board Award for Excellence in the Educational Use of Historical Records was awarded to the Education Center for the “America’s Black Eagles: The Tuskegee Pioneers… and Beyond” for an interdisciplinary teacher guide. In the past three years, the National STEM Academy has been voted Best of the Best Summer Camps by the Macon Telegraph twice, as well as Best Place to Take Your Kids. In 2018, the National STEM Academy and STARBASE ROBINS was awarded the STEM Education Award by the Technology Association of Georgia for the Operation STEM partnership outreach program. The award “Recognizes extracurricular programs who provide innovative STEM opportunities for students in order to expand STEM skills and workforce readiness.”
