Naytahwaush is a census-designated place (CDP) in Mahnomen County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 578 at the 2010 census.GeographyAccording to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 3.3 square miles (8.5 km²), of which 2.9 square miles (7.5 km²) of it is land and 0.4 square miles (1.0 km²) of it (11.41%) is water.DemographicsAs of the census of 2000, there were 583 people, 166 households, and 124 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 30.0 people per square mile (11.6/km²). There were 173 housing units at an average density of 8.9/sq mi (3.4/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 5.15% White, 0.86% African American, 91.25% Native American, 0.34% from other races, and 2.40% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 1.89% of the population.There were 166 households out of which 52.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 31.3% were married couples living together, 34.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.7% were non-families. 18.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 9.0% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 3.51 and the average family size was 3.94.
