Nicolas G Biro, M.D. is a board-certified Ophthalmologist who completed two additional years of specialty training in Ocular Plastic Surgery and Neuro-Ophthalmology at the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital.
Dr. Biro graduated from the University of South Florida, College of Medicine in 2005. He completed his internship at New York University Medical Center, followed by an ophthalmology residency at the University of South Florida. Subsequently, he was selected for a two year fellowship in Neuro-Ophthalmology and Ocular Plastic and Orbital Surgery at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, the nation’s first eye hospital and one of the premier eye centers in the world.
Dr. Biro is an expert in cosmetic and reconstructive surgery and minimally-invasive care of the eyes and face. His most common procedures include upper and lower eyelid lifts (blepharoplasty), ptosis (droopy eyelids), entropion and ectropion, eyelid cancer, Moh’s reconstruction, tearing and blocked tear ducts, thyroid eye disease (Graves’ disease) and orbital tumors, as well as injectables (BOTOX® and facial fillers).
Additionally, Dr. Biro treats blepharospasms, hemifacial spasms, Bell’s palsy, double vision, ocular myasthenia gravis, optic neuropathy, optic neuritis and unexplained vision loss.
Dr. Biro also teaches residents at Nassau University Medical Center, a busy Level I trauma center, where he oversees all Oculoplastic and Neuro-Ophthalmologic care.
