Nkana Water Supply and Sanitation Project (NWSSP) is a US$63.5 million water and sanitation programme being implemented by Nkana Water and Sewerage Company (NWSC) in Kitwe, Kalulushi and Chambishi towns. It started in June 2009 and it is set for completion by March 2014. The Project is funded by the African Development Bank and the Government of the Republic of Zambia (GRZ).
NWSSP is part of the Government's Urban Water Supply and Sanitation Programme and Sixth National Development Plan. This Project will assist NWSC and the Government to improve the public health of people in the named towns through rehabilitation and extension of water and sanitation facilities as well as through hygiene and sanitation promotion and education.
