|About||We are people in relationship with one another and with God.|
In things agreed upon unity,
In other things liberty,
In all things the will to be one.
-based upon St. Augustines statement about division in the church
The Norris Religious Fellowship is an interdenominational community church which has grown from the desire of people with varied religious backgrounds to share experiences and to search together for spiritual enrichment.
It seeks to provide opportunity for spiritual growth through a deeper appreciation of faith heritage and an understanding of the insights of the world's great religious faiths. Our membership is open to all and is not required to attend or become involved.
Our church community continues to build, hoping that those who join with us will find their burdens shared and their joys multiplied. We are a non-creedal church though we are composed of a number of individuals who come to us from creedal churches. As an inter-denominational church you can typically find former Methodists, Presbyterians, Lutherans, Baptists, Roman Catholics, Episcopalians, and non-Christian individuals in our pews.
Many in our community have a wide-range of beliefs. You will find a fairly conservative theology and a fairly progressive theology sitting right next to one another in the pew. You will find these same people sharing opinions and views, differing widely in beliefs and allowing, tolerating, understanding, accepting the other persons’ views as being true for them, and therefore acceptable.
We are a church that not only accepts and tolerates differences but encourages this diverse group to come together. It is an incredible mix.
We also have a number of seekers who come to us from fairly fundamental or conservative churches who are looking for a different way of faith expression. We encourage seeking; and while not always providing answers, will help in the process of thinking and discovering.
G!d is tolerant, loving and compassionate.
We are co-creators of life with G!d and as such are asked to be loving and compassionate and tolerant of all, including ourselves.
All are welcome in our Sanctuary
We are an open church, welcoming & affirming. We are a no pressure community that meets you wherever you are in life's journey. Your relationship with G!d is yours. We invite you to come as you are.
