Escape the stress of city living at this urban sanctuary with native wildflowers, trees and calming still water that provides a home for turtles, dragonflies, butterflies, small mammals, and over 230 species of resident and migratory birds.
Our mission is to identify, preserve, and enhance the natural. historical, and cultural assets of Lincoln Park through restoration, management, advocacy, and stewardship to benefit the park, the public, and the environment while providing opportunities for education and community involvement.
The Lincoln Park Conservancy identifies a park asset in need, raise private funds to restore the site to its full potential, then commit to co-managing the restored site under a Master Agreement with the Chicago Park District. Management of our restored park sites protects the financial and emotional investments of our donors and prevents the site from falling into a cycle of neglect during budget cuts and personnel changes common to city government.
Our rehabilitation of the Alfred Caldwell Lily Pool earned the site National Historic Landmark and Chicago Historical Landmark status. Numerous other city and architectural awards were also bestowed. See our website for more details.
