The NC SMME Trust is a business incubator developing SMMEs in various economic sectors in the Northern Cape. The vision of the Trust is to develop communities through their programmes and such be the leading incubator in the Northern Cape.
In the past 11 years since the merger the SMME Trust has been able to successfully refine its service and product offering, having full knowledge what the needs of the local SMME sector are. To date the Trust has 22 incumbents and would like to double this number.
The Northern Cape SMME Trust ultimately seeks to provide a special purpose vehicle for the development of SMMEs into fully fledged business entities capable of fostering sustainable development as envisaged in the National Growth Path and the National Development plan 2030 objectives.
The Trust was from 2003 to date tasked with the implementation of the provincial incubation model on behalf of the Northern Cape Department of Economic Development and Tourism.
The Trust in 2009 and 2010 successfully delivered on the 1st and 2nd round of Northern Cape Provincial SMME Pilgrimage.
In 2011-2012 the Trust had a successful SMME Exhibition Expo for a host of SMMEs operating in the Frances Baard District Municipality.
