Northland Paradise Lodge cover
Description Directly in front of the lodge is the White Bear Old Growth Forest, a 2,000 acre (800 hectare) ancient ecosystem of giant red & white pines and a variety of at least 25 different species of rare northern orchids. The lodge is accented in cedar and knotty pine while our eight comfortable units have electric heat, town water, 3 piece bathrooms and full cooking facilities. All linen and cooking utensils are supplied.
Browse through our gift shop for souvenir shirts, hats, tackle and tanned wild fur. Free boat launching and mooring is available. Use the lodge as a starting point to explore over 50km (30 Miles) of pristine, almost uninhabited wilderness of our lake system which is rich with walleye (pickerel), northern pike, smallmouth bass, lake trout and whitefish. Pack a lunch and swim at any of the sand beaches while listening to the cry of the loons.
Canoes rentals are available to take avid nature lovers through countless lakes, rivers and streams of varying difficulty to view and photograph some of the most breath-taking and unique scenery available in North America. Observe many forms of wildlife in their natural habitat including bear, moose, beaver, otter, pine marten, mink, fisher and lynx as well as loons, blue herons, peregrine falcons, osprey, ruffed grouse, plleated woodpeckers, Canada Jays (Whiskey Jacks) and countless varieties of northern song birds including the very vocal but rare orange crested warbler.
