|About||NLMAS bear witness to farmed animals taken to auction at Norwich Livestock Market, holding monthly vigils to raise awareness to the animal suffering.|
Welcome to Norwich Livestock Market Animal Save Page.
Norwich Livestock Market Animal Save will raise awareness for the animals that are being auctioned at a live market into further suffering, whether it be to farmers or direct to slaughter.
NLMAS will focus on the animals being used and sold in the meat and dairy & egg industry. We hold regular vigils for these animals by following the journey of transportation, to and from the farmers market. By bearing witness together we will expose the suffering of animals that is usually hidden from view.
The goal is to inspire more people to be compassionate, be vegan and be more active. The vigils are non-violent, love-based and inclusive. Everyone is welcome and encouraged to attend. We will respond to criticism, aggression and abuse with peace and kindness; we are not here to spread or advocate hatred and anger, rather the opposite.
The Save Movement was founded by Anita Krajnc in Toronto 2010. The Toronto Pig Save gave rise to the slogan 'compassion is not a crime' in June 2015 when Krajnc was charged with 'criminal mischief' for giving water to dehydrated pigs being transported to slaughter during a summer heatwave. Now in 2017, The Save Movement has grown exponentially, with hundreds of people attending vigils across the globe every week
