The Academic Resource Center (ARC) is the place to go when you don’t know where to go with academic navigation questions. It offers a variety of academic support resources, including cross-school advising and peer tutoring through the University Learning Center, as well as referrals to other academic resources from our SMART Bar (see below). Additional resources at the ARC include an Argo Tea Café, computers and ITS printer, and a variety of study spaces.
Academic advising and support for the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program and Higher Education Opportunity Program is also located in the Academic Resource Center.
To navigate the Academic Resource Center or to find your way to other academic resources around campus, stop by our S.M.A.R.T. Bar – a reception and information desk located by the main entrance. The S.M.A.R.T. Bar is staffed by a team of friendly and knowledgeable students (SMART Aides) who are full of information on Student Mentoring, Academic Resources, Tutoring. They can sign you up for a walk-in advising appointment with one of our cross-school advisors, direct you to an academic coach or a study skills workshop in the University Learning Center, or provide you with a tutoring schedule. As NYU students, SMART Aides fully understand the complexities of navigating the University from a student perspective.
