Mission The Schoharie County Historical Society is a historical society dedicated to encouraging and promoting a knowledge of and appreciation for the history and cultures of Schoharie County and its inhabitants from the prehistoric period to the advancing present through advocacy, education, presentation, interpretation, and research.
Description A 1772 church fortified in 1777 and attacked in 1780 during the Revolutionary War. Now a museum for over 125 years. Thousands of artifacts in six historic buildings include a fire engine built before George Washington was born and Schoharie's first automobile! The museum is open daily May through October!
