The Ohio Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program (EFNEP) is free nutrition education offered to eligible Ohioans through The Ohio State University Extension. This program is intended for limited resource adults who care for children in their homes as well as limited-income youth. The program utilizes interactive discussions and activities to guide participants through a series of meetings aimed at improving the total family diet and nutritional well-being. Classes cover Nutrition, Food Resources Management, Food Safety, and Food Security. Participants receive class materials, recipes, and a certificate of completion. A series of lessons are offered in a number of local community organizations and schools in Lucas County. Lessons are taught in both English and Spanish.
