Mission To teach and apply physiology concepts required in future clinical practice of doctors in rural and urban areas of Nigeria and any other part of the world.

To teach and give the students a scientific foundation for continued study and research in physiology so as to produce specialists in physiology.

To develop in the students the ability to interpret data using statistical inference and the formulation of logical conditions from such data either for diagnostic clinical purpose or unearthing such new concepts that can improve total health care delivery or expand the horizon of physiology as a discipline.
Description PHYSIOLOGY: Is the study of normal functions in organisms. The bedrock of medical practice is human physiology, hence a sound knowledge of normal function is a sine qua non for the detection of derangement that causes morbidity and mortality. There is at present a dearth qualified Basic Medical Science teachers in most medical schools in Nigeria. The programme offers courses of study leading to the awards of B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. respectively. The philosophy behind B.Sc., Physiology therefore emphasizes the need for greater depth of knowledge in order to produce graduate who will take up careers in physiology.
