Pine Tree Playhouse is a non-profit community theatre located in Winnsboro, South Carolina.
The purposes of Pine Tree Playhouse are: to stimulate, promote, teach and develop interest in the dramatic arts; to educate the general public in the dramatic arts; to create opportunites for all who are interested in the theatre to participate in its activities; to advance the general level of culture in the field of dramatic arts by the establishment and maintenance of a theatre for the production of plays, musicals, readings, dramas, comedies, exhibitions, and dramatic arts in all forms and of the highest standards; and to bring all aspects of the dramatic arts to areas and centers not adequately served.
The Pine Tree Playhouse is a non-profit, community theatre offering a wide range of classic, eclectic, and new works in a casual, intimate space. It was started in 1972 and over the years has produced an average of five productions a year, including musicals and non-musicals of popular plays and original works by local authors. We are located in the Pine Tree Playhouse, at 230 South Congress St. in Winnsboro, S.C. Our building was a former church transformed by our members into an 88 seat theatre.
