Welcome to the Portland Jobs with Justice Facebook Page
Portland Jobs with Justice adheres to the following social media comment and general use policy:
We are committed to using our social media platforms to maintain a respectful community that actively engages with current news and events related to our work and mission. Our coalition is composed of labor unions, community, religious and student organizations, and individual activists with the purpose of defending the rights of all working people and preserving civil and economic rights for all members of the community; the right to a decent standard of living, the right to job security, and the right to organize with a focus on the abuse of civil rights and the struggles of exploited workers and their communities, especially people of color, immigrants, LGBTQ people, and women.
In the struggle for workers’ rights and social justice, Portland Jobs with Justice is dedicated to maintaining an intersectional approach with anti-oppression values in our work offline and online. To that end, Portland Jobs with Justice staff will be moderating comment sections, and participate or intervene, as appropriate.
We aspire to build a community that includes and centers the struggles of people from historically marginalized communities. We recognize that the anonymity of the internet plus unmoderated comment sections all too often become intensely painful and traumatizing to view. Therefore, comments that are racist, sexist, anti-LGBTQ, islamophobic, xenophobic, ableist, or otherwise biggoted will be removed. This may result in being permanently banned from our social media, however, JwJ staff will consider upon intent and severity of the incident, and try to reach out to the participant to explain why the comment was removed.
JwJ staff also reserves the right to delete comments that meet any of the following conditions:
*Serious and inaccurate accusations against individuals or organizations
