Adventure With Purpose in Duluth and Northern Minnesota
|Mission||Positive Energy Outdoors, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit, encourages people and animal powered exploration of the outdoors. Our programs emphasize teamwork, healthy risk taking, and positive communication, creating learning opportunities that can lead to a lifetime of active adventures.|
The husband and wife team of Blake Cazier and Steph Love founded PEO to help people of all ages and abilities get outside. With more than 50 years of combined professional teaching and guiding experience, Blake, Steph and PEO's staff of professional outdoor educators are among the most experienced guides and instructors in the region. Each year, our team helps thousands of people feel safe and have fun while participating in outdoor activities.
Summer Tours, Programs and Field Trips:
Tours for individuals, families and groups of up to 60 include summer sled dog kennel tours, kayaking, rock climbing, 12 passenger voyageur canoeing and draft horse wagon rides. PEO also offers summer day camps for grades K-8, overnight adventure camps for teens and a counselor in training (CIT) program.
Portable climbing wall, kayaks and SUPs (Fredenberg/Island Lake lake use only--we do not rent kayaks for use on Lake Superior).
Winter Tours, Programs and Field Trips:
Tours for individuals, families and groups of up to 60 include dog sledding, draft horse sleigh rides, snowshoeing and ice climbing. PEO also offers winter day camps for grades K-8.
Snowshoes, ice climbing boots, crampons and ice tools.
After School Programs:
PEO runs Adventure Club, an after school program combining outdoor education and free play in nature for grades K-5. The program is housed at Lowell Elementary School in Duluth, MN and other locations in the region.
