Puget Sound Educational Service District is an Educational Service District (ESD) that develops and delivers a wide selection of services and instructional and administrative support to 35 school districts in the Puget Sound region.
We are committed to ensuring success for each child and eliminating the Opportunity Gap by leading with racial equity by providing cooperative and informational services to local school districts to assure equal educational opportunities.
The agency is one of nine regional educational organizations that serve school districts and state-approved private schools in Washington. Each ESD functions primarily as support agencies and delivers educational services that can be more efficiently or economically performed regionally.
Our service area includes 35 school districts and more than 200 private schools in King and Pierce counties plus Bainbridge Island. Approximately 38 percent of the state's K-12 public school students, more than 383,000, are served in the area's school districts, which range from large to small, urban to rural.
We develop and deliver a wide selection of services that provide instructional and administrative support to schools and direct service to students and families. We offer early childhood and family support services, including programs for students with special needs; financial and technology services; and a wide variety of learning and teaching services including professional development and certification.
