About PVAC Urgent Pets:
Palm Valley Animal Center (PVAC) is a 501(c)3 private nonprofit that serves as the community shelter for Hidalgo County. As the only open admission animal center in our county, we feel it is our obligation to find lifesaving solutions for the tens of thousands of pet that are surrendered to our facility. This page was created to market the pets most in need at Palm Valley Animal Center and to save lives! We are very thankful for all of you who have networked, shared, and saved lives that we have marketed on this page.
More than anything, the pets on this page need a place to go. If you can adopt, foster, or rescue, please immediately contact firstname.lastname@example.org and be sure to include the animal's ID# and a phone number in case we need to reach you.

This page was created, updated and monitored by PVAC, to market and help save the lives of the pets most in need that are surrendered to PVAC. All activity associated with PVAC Urgent Pets is managed by one paid employee, so we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to make this page a lifesaving tool for the most urgent pets at PVAC.
Our staff member currently is charged with taking photos and watermarking images with the pet’s information, when a volunteer is not available, as well as posting images to the page, responding to emails and coordinating with our Adoption/Rescue/Foster teams to secure placement for the pets listed.
PVAC deadlines are set by intake dates, medical assessments, behavioral assessments, and space. Kennel space is determined by the number of adoptions, pets going into foster, and pets tagged & picked up from our facilities by rescue partners. On occasion a pet might receive an extension if kennel space opens up during the day. Otherwise, placement within the allotted time is their only hope.
