PAISO was created in 1964 by virtue of City Ordinance No. 5952 which was enacted under the administration of Mayor Norberto S. Amoranto.
All cities are mandated by the Local Government Code of 1991 to appoint an information officer.
By virtue of City Ordinance ____ -2017 signed by Mayor Herbert Bautista on ___ March 2017, PAISO was upgraded into a Department and is now known as the QC Public Affairs Department.
Mayor Herbert M. Bautista appointed veteran journalist Ares P. Gutierrez to head the Department effective 1 July 2016.
