|About||Ride for John. It's not just another funeral, it's not another accidental overdose, it's someone child that is gone, someone's loved one that is gone.|
RIde for John is in loving memory of my only child who was buried on July 30, 2016, his 23rd birthday.
This is to create greater awareness of this current drug epidemic that is killing more 18-26 year old's at a higher rate than those lives lost during the Vietnam War. Do you know how many families left behind in the wake of this destruction this has effected? How many more are going through it now?
John had started snorting cocaine and heroin and within 2 weeks he was gone. We had the talks about heroin he said he would never do it, I believed him. By the time we could wrap our minds on what was going on it was too late. I listen to people all the time about how many funerals they have been to because of this. It's not just another funeral, this is someone's child, someone's loved one, someone that meant the world to them.
Last August I made a stand, My Child's Life Matters this isn't just about John. It's about everyone's children. By God's grace we have opened a non for profit resale shop in West Chicago, all proceeds go towards cleaning up our community and getting the families the support they need. We have been opened a month and have already helped 2 people struggling with their addiction. Together with God's grace we can all make a difference.
I pray we see you Sunday July 30th God Bless
