The Rise Up Foundation serves the lives of children and families living in poverty and difficult circumstances with a special emphasis on literacy efforts.
The mission of the Rise Up Foundation is to improve the lives of children and families living in poverty and difficult circumstances. We achieve this through collaborations that empower individuals to make lasting changes in their lives. Our current efforts emphasize helping teachers in low-income communities achieve their classroom goals by helping fund their projects and providing new books for their students to read.
We strive to be a resource for people, nonprofits and communities working toward prosperity and empowering children and families to achieve lifelong successes. Through mentoring, advocacy, program support, literacy efforts, scholarship and grant-making, Rise Up Foundation endeavors to create real and lasting change for children and families in need.
Rise Up is committed to ensuring the well-being of children by working with committed organizations to define and solve the problems chronic poverty brings to children and their communities by placing special emphasis on literacy and the power of books in the hands of children. The Rise Up Foundation was founded by Wendy Adams in 2008. Wendy also teaches at Chapman University and writes children's books under the pen name Alane Adams.
