Roots Eatery is Stephanie’s brainchild. Having spent 9 years as a banker at HSBC, Stephanie left the world of finance and to pursue her long awaited dream of becoming a chef.
First getting her culinary training with renowned chef Alain Ducasse, then stints with Michelin starred restaurants, Hostellerie De Plaisance in Saint Emilion, France and local hero, Amber, Stephanie earned her chops (no pun intended) and started Roots Eatery in May 2017.
Having had her fair share of lunch take-outs from working in the heart of Hong Kong, Stephanie envisions a new way of approaching lunch, a core staple of our daily grind, embodied in the offerings of Roots Eatery.

At Roots Eatery, our passion is about making you solidly good food so you can always be at your best.
The name “Roots Eatery” was inspired by the humble root vegetables, like celery, carrots, broccoli, potatoes, beetroots – all nourishing, fulfilling, and nutritious vegetables that are staples in our dishes. “Roots” is also about our culinary philosophy – We go back to the basics and give the utmost love and respect to every ingredient and let their original taste and beauty shine.
We use only fresh, beautiful, local ingredients, and transform them into wholesome, rustic, honest day to day meals with care and attention.
But we also like to have fun with our ingredients, because we believe every meal should be an unforgettable experience.
