The purpose of this traveling exhibit is to educate people about the disease of polio, raise awareness of Rotary’s promise to eradicate polio.
In February 2017, DGN Suzanne Gibson read an article about an Iron Lung trailer in the UK. She was inspired and went to Rotary International headquarters to see if they had an iron lung. The machines they had were not suitable for her dream, so she and her husband Mark drove to Florida, purchased RILEE (Rotary Iron Lung Equipment Education) and brought it back to Illinois just before Hurricane Irma hit. RILEE is currently waiting for its trailer to be completed, sometime in November. Keep an eye out for updates in the progress of this amazing project.
